University Police -- Student Workers
The University of Toledo Police
Department employs more than 50 student workers in many
roles. UT students may apply for any of the listed
positions.
A background check including driving
history, criminal record, and employment history
(including absenteeism) will be conducted prior to
employment. For the jobs indicated with an asterisk (*)
the student must have a valid drivers license and a
good driving record.
In all cases, per University policy,
students may not work more than 20 hours per week at any
University student position. This includes jobs at other
UT offices (i.e.: if a student is working 8 hours a week
as a life guard at the Student Recreation Center, they
may only work 12 hours a week for Rocket Patrol)

Rocket Patrol * issue parking tickets and
assist with traffic control at special events and
sporting contests. Starting pay is $6.25 an hour.

Campus Assistance
Specialists * assist in securing and locking
up buildings at night, unlocking building and
classrooms on weekends, and provide motorist
assistance, as directed. Starting pay is $7.00 an
hour.

Night
Watch (escort service) * escort students to
and from UT buildings, to their cars, and to apartment
complexes immediately adjacent to campus. Starting pay
is $6.00 an hour.

CCTV operators monitor the
campus-wide network of closed circuit surveillance
cameras. Starting pay is $6.00 an hour.

Office/Records Clerk answer
phones, file, data entry, miscellaneous typing and
computer work. Starting pay is $5.75 an hour.
