University Police -- Community Affairs Office

The Community Affairs Office offers a variety of both on and off campus crime prevention and educational programs. Topics include personal safety, sexual assault, date rape prevention, domestic violence, workplace violence and drug and alcohol abuse prevention. Through this office, UT Police also offers:

Crime Busters Hotline – UT Police has established two methods for people to report information anonymously, including by phone or via the internet.

Night Watch (Escort Service) – Night Watch (formerly known as the Escort Service) is a group of students who provide escorts between buildings or to apartments close to UT.

Healthy Boundaries program – A semester-long program that provides a safe place to talk about relationships and to learn and practice healthy relationship skills. Participants learn that healthy relationships are based on equality and mutual respect. Click for support material.

Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) program – A nationally accredited program The RAD program is an intensive, women-only self defense class designed to give women the tools they need to deal appropriately with an aggressor.

Fingerprint service – Community Affairs also offers fingerprinting services for people requiring them for employment; including students, lawyers, teachers, and child care workers.

Residence Hall Safety Tips – For students living in residence halls, this tip sheet is a must read. It provides simple tips and ideas on how to keep from becoming the victim of a crime.

Off Campus Safety Tips – For students living off campus, this tip sheet is a must read. It provides simple ideas on how to keep yourself from becoming the victim of a crime.

Information on UT’s Sexual Assault Policy – The University of Toledo will not tolerate sexual assault of any kind, in any form. For more information on UT’s Sexual Assault Policy, including medical treatment and reporting options, refer to the full policy.
