University Police -- Bureaus and Offices
The University of Toledo Police Department is
comprised of the following bureaus and offices:
Operations Bureau – responsible for the
uniform patrol of the campus. Officers are deployed in vehicles, on
foot, and on mountain bike. The K-9 unit, detectives, and the UTPD-TPD 618 Team Policing Unit
are also part of this bureau.
Parking and Event Management –
coordinates security for all special events such as dances,
concerts, and sporting events. Also includes the Parking Enforcement
Office, which oversees Rocket Patrol and is responsible for
following up on all UT parking citations.
Community Affairs Office – responsible for
the Escort Service (Night Watch), and the department’s crime prevention programs, including Healthy Boundaries, the RAD self-defense
program, and various one-on-one and departmental presentations.
Criminal Investigations and Special Operations
– conducts investigations into crimes against persons and
property and manages the Police Records Office. During the hiring
process, this office conducts background investigations on all
police officer applicants. Also includes the department's K-9 unit.
Police Communications Center – the central hub of all police
communications on campus, the office also is the central monitoring
station of the CCTV network and all campus burglar and fire alarms.
